Exploring the Aman Museum in Marrakech

Exploring the Aman Museum in Marrakech

Since July 20th, museums have once again been allowed to welcome the public. This includes the Mohammed VI Museum of Water Civilization in Morocco (Aman). So, if you're spending your summer in Marrakech and find yourself getting a bit restless, here's why you should consider paying it a visit.

Attention all parents looking for ways to entertain their kids, the Aman Museum welcomes you safely. Unfortunately still not very well-known, this ultra-modern museum is nonetheless very interactive. Its design is perfectly suited for young children: interactive tablets and tactile games available, audiovisual supports, activity and game booklets handed out at the entrance… In short, plenty to keep them entertained.

It's also a chance to discover Moroccan ingenuity in water management and the historical role of Habous in water regulation. Here you can learn about the molecular structure of water, the water cycle, irrigation systems in Morocco, water collection, customary law, water in tanneries or salt pans… And if you've always heard about the khettaras of the Marrakech region without ever understanding how they work, you can finally uncover all their secrets thanks to detailed explanations.

Bonus: the museum is air-conditioned!
