For a while now, we've been following the Moroccan escapade of reggaeton star Maluma on social media. As he prepared his duet with the artist now known as Gims, he seemed to fall for the charms of the ochre city. It's no surprise, given that Gims knows Marrakech like the back of his hand and was the perfect guide. It was his idea to shoot their collaboration clip in Marrakech, "to highlight this ancient city and its vast tourist potential."
In the 100% Marrakchi clip, we see the allure of Moroccan riads, the medina from its rooftops, and even the Menara basin, where Gims and Maluma take to jet skiing... The man behind the camera, Said C Naciri, a Moroccan director who already demonstrated his ability to present a musical postcard of Morocco in RedOne's "Boum Boum" clip, impresses us yet again!
Another Moroccan contributing to the video, designer Selim Mouhyi. Little did he know that his orange jacket found at Atelier 44 would completely win over Maluma.
With more than 5 million views in just 48 hours, this clip could be more than just a hymn for Marrakech and Morocco. "Hola Senorita (Maria)" might just become the summer's top hit, plain and simple!
