Golf club rentals in Marrakech

Golf club rentals in Marrakech

Over the past ten years, a new type of traveler has been arriving in Marrakech: the golf tourist. With more than half a dozen golf courses, players have their pick of the greens. However, with a 20-kilo baggage allowance per passenger, it's not always easy to lug all your gear along. Made in Marrakech has the solution.

Today, every golf course in the city boasts its own club house. Each offers a way to enjoy the sport without the need to invest in often pricey club sets. This is where equipment rental comes into play.

Rent at the Club House

Among the city's most prestigious golf courses is the PGP, or Palmeraie Golf Palace. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, this course is overflowing with beauty. Refreshed by 7 lakes and slightly hilly, the course mixes challenging gameplay with sublime panoramas. When it comes to equipment rental, the PGP offers two brands of clubs. Proedge, aimed at beginners, is available for rent at 260 dh for a full bag for 18 holes, and TaylorMade, considered the pinnacle, rented out at 400 dh.

In the same price range, Samanah Golf, located near Marrakech, has only 18 holes but offers a Nicklaus branded bag for rent at 280 Dhs for 18 holes - a brand created by one of the world's greatest golf players, although this doesn't necessarily speak to the quality of the clubs...

The Royal Golf, on the road to Ouarzazate, is a delight for all sport enthusiasts. With its 27 holes and lush, green landscapes unimaginable in Marrakech, this course is undoubtedly the most refined in the city. Its club house rents out high-end brand bags for 300 dh for 18 holes. Callaway and Mizuno, known as the best in the industry.

Across the road, Amelkis Golf has 27 holes surrounded by hundreds of luxury villas. More expensive than its competitors, it offers low-end clubs for rent at 300 dh and the TaylorMade brand for 500 dh.

Cheaper than all its competitors, Atlas Golf has 9 holes near the Amizmiz road. While it doesn't rent top brand equipment for seasoned professionals, its pricing makes all the difference. Indeed, half a set rents for just 70 dh and a full set for 100 dh.

Club house at home

In recent years, a Marrakech-based company has been changing the game. No need to alter your habits each time you switch golf courses. G2M is a young company specializing in golf equipment rental. Facing competition, the father and son behind this ambitious project have advantages they're keen to highlight. Firstly, the quality. Only two brands are offered, but they are none other than Callaway and TaylorMade. Secondly, the rental duration. While a club house rents for the course, G2M rents for the day. Thirdly, the price! Count on €30 per day or €120 per week—a rate unimaginable for traditional clubs. Lastly, G2M delivers your equipment right to your hotel or riad. The club house comes to you.

True, the golf courses in Marrakech are little oases of greenery frequented by a well-to-do clientele, for whom a few extra dirhams matter little. However, given G2M's offerings, doesn't the choice seem obvious?
