Top things to do when it's hot in Marrakech

Top things to do when it's hot in Marrakech

It's not easy to endure the heat, especially in the downtown furnace! That's why Made in Marrakech has put together a list of cool things to do. Stroll in a garden, dive into a pool, stop for some ice cream or sip a fresh fruit cocktail... The choice is yours, depending on your schedule and mood!

Take a walk in a garden

What better way to take a break than in the shade of trees? The city offers a multitude of gardens ready to welcome the whole family. Why not visit the Jardin Anima. Located on the Ourika road, just minutes from downtown, this green space of over 2 hectares is a cool haven with its fresh plants and contemporary art exhibitions. And for those without a car, a shuttle takes you there for free from Marrakech.

Enjoy a delicious ice cream

Hot weather doesn't mean we lose our appetite! And what's better than a delicious ice cream to refresh your mind. So, if you're in the medina, don't hesitate to stop at one of the city's most emblematic establishments, the cafe-restaurant Argana. Located on Jemaa el Fna square, this cafe, frequented by both tourists and locals, offers homemade ice cream with tasty flavors to savor while enjoying the live spectacle of the square.

Spend a day at the pool

When it's hot, what better way to spend the day than at the pool side. Both the young and the young at heart can enjoy numerous dips or take a nap in the shade of a sun lounger. And because there are many facilities offering day pool passes in the ochre city, we've selected some great addresses for you to discover by clicking here.

Return to childhood

For that, nothing beats heading towards Amizmiz and making a stop at Laser Games or Enigma Escape Game. At the former, imagine yourself as a sharpshooter ready to hit your target, and at the latter, you'll need intuition and a good sense of deduction to solve puzzles in settings that feel real. All of it indoors, of course, with nice cool air conditioning!

Sip on a smoothie or fresh fruit juice

Sweet, nutritious and full of vitamins, fresh fruit cocktails and smoothies are perfect to recharge and cool down. The concept store Ayaso offers delicious minute-made fruit juices with ingredients exclusively from organic and local farming. If you prefer smoothies, L’Escapade has some tasty and rather unique ones. But don't worry, they also make fruit juices.

Escape to the countryside

Take a day to breathe in the countryside. Surrounded by vineyards, the guest house Jnane Tihihit offers a delicious lunch featuring garden products. You can also follow the streams leading to Lake Lalla Takerkoust or visit the farm animals. Another option, La Ferme Berbère, also a guesthouse located on the Ourika road, is a place to rejuvenate in the shade of trees, cool off in the pool, or enjoy a menu crafted from garden vegetables.

Plan a shopping day

A good way to lower the temperature is to cool off with air conditioning. To do this, call your friends and go on a shopping spree at Almazar Centre. Fashion, home decor, cultural and sports articles... the choice is vast and all shops are air conditioned. You can also find places to eat and take a well-deserved break.
