For nearly a decade, the Royal Tennis Club of Marrakech has hosted the greatest. Kings Mohammed V and Hassan II, as well as His Majesty Mohammed VI have graced the club with their presence. The venue has organized some of the most prestigious tournaments, like the one initiated in Marrakech in 1984 by His Majesty Hassan II, the Hassan II Trophy.
Other major tournaments have taken place on the 9 courts that make up the facility, including the Davis Cup, from 2003 to 2011. Portuguese professional players and others from the Africa Zone have competed on the club's clay courts. Notables such as Mohamed Mjid, Yannick Noah, Bollettieri, Younes El Aynaoui, and celebrities like Charles Bronson or Anthony Quinn have also played at the Royal Tennis Club... offering reassurance to the students' parents about the team's capability and competence in charge of their training.
Tennis, a sport accessible to all
Enrollment starts from the ages of 4 or 5 years in Mini-Tennis, catering to the youngest players. The Tennis School picks up from there, leading to advanced and hopeful group levels, then to Elite and Super Elite categories. For adults, membership requires sponsorship by two members, with no prior level necessary.
Of the 9 courts, 7 are lit. There's also a hard, lit court and a central court that meets international ITF and ATP Tour standards. For those looking to unwind after playing, the complex also includes a restaurant, a supervised pool, and rest lounges.
The Royal Tennis Club of Marrakech is one of the venues that brings our city global fame.
